Types Of Water Filter Cartridges

The main types of water filter cartridges include the following:
PP cotton filter cartridge : Mainly used to remove mud, rust and large particles of impurities in water. PP cotton filter cartridges are cheap and easy to replace, and are usually recommended to be replaced every 3-6 months.
Activated carbon filter cartridge : There are two types: granular activated carbon and compressed activated carbon. Granular activated carbon has unstable effects and is often used for secondary filtration; compressed activated carbon has more stable effects and is often used for tertiary filtration. Activated carbon filter cartridges can effectively remove odors, residual chlorine and organic matter in water, and the recommended replacement cycle is 6-12 months.
Ultrafiltration membrane filter cartridge : Using ultrafiltration membrane technology, the filtration accuracy is about 0.01 microns, which can effectively remove bacteria, viruses and large molecular organic matter, while retaining minerals and trace elements that are beneficial to the human body. The replacement cycle of ultrafiltration membrane filter cartridges is generally 12-24 months.
Reverse Osmosis Membrane Filter (RO Membrane): The pore size is only 0.0001 microns, which is one of the filters with the highest filtration accuracy at present. It can effectively remove dissolved solids, heavy metals, bacteria and viruses in water, but it will remove some beneficial minerals. The replacement cycle of RO membrane filter is generally 24-36 months.
Ceramic Filter: It uses natural ceramic materials such as diatomaceous earth, with extremely high filtration accuracy, and can effectively remove bacteria, viruses and suspended solids while retaining beneficial minerals. Ceramic filter is resistant to high temperature and corrosion, can be repeatedly rinsed and used, and the replacement cycle is generally 6-12 months.
Nanofiltration Membrane Filter: The pore size is about 1 nanometer, which is between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. It can remove most organic matter and multivalent ions, and retain some beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium. The replacement cycle of nanofiltration membrane filter is generally 12-24 months.
These filter elements have their own characteristics and are suitable for different water quality and treatment needs. Choosing a suitable filter element requires considering factors such as water quality, filtration accuracy, and service life.
