Activated carbon block series, extruded carbon block filter cartridges, are made with coconut shell based carbon which creates what many believed to be sweeter tasting water. The unique structure of these carbon block filters is well suited for chemical adsorption, including vocs, while reducing chlorine and chemicals that contribute to taste and odor.
Carbon block cartridge is an ideal choice for taste and odor control, chlorine, chloramine, organic, lead, and cyst removal while providing the particulate filtration and dirt-holding capacity of a sediment filter. It can be used in a wide range of general water purification operations, pre and post r/o, and drinking water filtration. Increased adsorption based upon higher exposed small carbon particle make-up. Uniformed micro-porous dual action activated / sediment carbon block construction eliminates channeling.
Types of Chlorine Reduction
Extruded carbon block filter cartridges
The extruded carbon block filter cartridge is made of coconut shell or coal-based activated carbon as raw materials and mixed with an inorganic liquid binder, then poured into a special mold, compressed by a press at high pressure, and dried after being ejected from the mold.
Sintered carbon block cartridges
Sintered activated carbon filter cartridge is a mixture of activated carbon powder material and polymer hot-melt pore-forming material, poured into a special mold, and sintered at a high temperature of 200~300℃. Due to the polymer bonding material can form open micropores in the sintering process, the characteristics of large specific surface area of activated carbon powder are maintained.
Granular activated carbon filters
The granular activated carbon filter is made by filling coconut shell or coal-based activated carbon as raw materials into a plastic filter shell by ultrasonic heat welding. It does not add any chemical additives. The water inlet and outlet of the filters are equipped with multi-layer fiber non-woven fabric to prevent carbon powder leakage.
