Types Of Drinking Water Filters
Leave a message
The main types of drinking water filters include PP cotton filtration, activated carbon filtration, ultrafiltration membrane filtration and RO reverse osmosis filtration. Each filtration method has its own characteristics and applicable scenarios:
PP cotton filtration: Mainly used to filter large particles of impurities in water, such as mud, rust, etc. Its advantage is low cost, but it can only solve some coarse filtration problems and is not effective for smaller pollutants.
Activated carbon filtration: Removes odor, residual chlorine and some organic pollutants in water through adsorption to improve the taste of water. But it cannot completely remove bacteria and heavy metals.
Ultrafiltration membrane filtration: It can filter out smaller particles, such as bacteria, viruses, etc., while retaining some minerals in the water. But it has limited effect on heavy metals and certain chemicals.
RO reverse osmosis filtration: It can filter out almost all pollutants, including heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and even some chemicals dissolved in water, and the water that comes out is almost pure water. But its disadvantage is that it needs to be powered on and will produce a certain amount of wastewater.
