How To Clean Water Filter Housing & Install Cartridges

We strongly advise performing annual sanitization of your water filtration system. The following comprehensive guide provides clear instructions for cleaning filter housings and seamlessly installing replacement cartridges.
1.System Preparation
- Close the main water supply valve to the filtration system
- Release residual pressure by opening the filtered water faucet
2.Housing Disassembly
- Carefully unscrew filter housings (manually or with wrench) while maintaining upright position
- Remove all cartridges and inspect O-rings
- Clean O-ring grooves and reinstall rings ensuring proper seating

3.Component Inspection
- Examine spent cartridges for sediment accumulation
- Assess need for more frequent changes or pre-filter addition
4.Cleaning Procedure
- Wash housings and caps with warm soapy water using a brush
- Prepare sanitizer: 1 gal water + 1/3 tsp unscented bleach
- Add 1 cup solution to each housing sump
5.System Sanitization
- Reassemble housings (without cartridges) with sanitizer
- Refill system and let solution circulate for 30 minutes
6.Reinstallation
- Install new cartridge you need
- Flush system for 5 minutes to activate media
7.Final Check
- Verify leak-free operation
- Close faucet after complete flushing
