HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE MY CARTRIDGE FILTER AND HOW DO I REPLACE IT?
Leave a message
Proper maintenance of cartridge filters requires annual replacement/cleaning at minimum. For high-sediment water sources, increase frequency to quarterly or even monthly servicing. Noticeable flow rate reduction signals necessary filter replacement.
Replacement procedure:
1.Shut off inlet/outlet valves
2.Position drainage bucket beneath housing
3.Depress red pressure relief valve to discharge residual water
4.Using filter wrench, rotate housing counterclockwise (viewed from top) for removal
5.Replace cartridge after thorough housing cleaning
6.Reassemble housing without sealants (utilizing existing O-ring)
7.Restart system by:
- Opening inlet valve first
- Purging air via relief valve
- Activating outlet valve
Special note for carbon block filters:
Flush system for 5 minutes post-installation to clear initial carbon release, evidenced by temporary water discoloration - this is normal system priming behavior.
