The certificate was issued to NSF/ANSI 42, the standard covering aesthetic effects in drinking water treatment: reduction of chlorine taste and odor and reduction of particulate matter. It applies to the 10-inch and 20-inch carbon block cartridges in 2.5-inch and 4.5-inch diameters,The certificate number is C0923891-01.

What NSF/ANSI 42 actually covers
Carbon block is the stage most households notice. It is what takes the chlorine smell and flat taste out of municipal tap water, and it is the first thing buyers ask about, because in a growing number of markets a distributor cannot list a carbon block cartridge or put it into a tender without a certification behind it.

Listed products stay in the program through periodic testing and factory audits, and the listing can be looked up publicly by anyone holding the number. That matters for buyers who would rather check than take a supplier's word for it.

Why it matters for distributors and OEM buyers
For importers and wholesalers, the practical gain is speed. An NSF listing is now commonly a screening question at the start of a supplier conversation, not a detail to sort out at the contract stage.

Retailers in North America and Western Europe tend to raise the same point when a private-label program comes up: they want to see a listing for the cartridge inside the system, not only for the finished assembly.
